Phare 2001 ESC Funds in Bulgaria

The EU’s pre-accession ESC funding for the 2001 financial year covered support to public institution building, SME consultancy, six high-tech incubators, cultural tourism, small roads schemes and the labour market. A team of international and local experts discussed the proposed projects with the EC Delegation and applicants, organised project design/logframe workshops and training. Hands-on support was provided in the drafting of the relevant applications (“project fiches”), which were developed in an iterative process before submission to the EC’s services (and later approval by the Phare Committee, which represents Member States). West Midlands Enterprise, Birmingham (UK)
