Mid-term evaluation of the Integrated Trade Promotion Project

Besides France, the European Union has long been a privileged partner of the Indian Ocean Commission. The EU-funded project had a two-fold purpose: Promoting private sector development and trade in the member countries of the Indian Ocean Commission (all of them island states – Madagascar, Comoros, Seychelles, Mauritius and the French overseas department of La Réunion). Therefore, it covered aspects of promoting SME activities (support, better regulatory environment) and simplifying trade procedures within the Indian Ocean region. Under the guidance of the Indian Ocean Commission Secretariat in Saint Louis and the project secretariat in Tananarive, RegioFuturi led an international expert team conducting a structured, questionnaire-based survey of businesses and institutions in all member countries. A number of workshops were organised to discuss findings and to fine-tune future project activities. Integration, Frankfurt (Germany) with ECDPM, Maastricht (Netherlands)
